8" crack in windshield
strange as it may seem a crack appear in my windshield while I was washing the car today. Wasn't in there when I pulled it out of the garage and I never saw it until I was doing a final 2nd over drying.
Anyway, it's about 8" across horizontally from the drivers A piller less than 1/2 way up from the bottom.
Question is should I try and scrammble to have it replaced by for having to leave Friday for a track event at RA this week end?
Is this a major deal or not?

It's amazing how the 5 tech inspections I've had (at the track, I've already had the pre-event inspection done for this event) this year have averaged about 45 seconds. I doubt if they would catch it because they are getting 120 cars teched in about 1/2 hour and are focused on check list items.
I will try to have it replaced by Thursday but it may not be availible by then...not sure if I can find a C6 Z06 windshield in time.

depending on the car, (and I don't know if vettes are included) the windshield is a structual member of the car. It insures rigidity, and is engineered into the design of the integrity of the envelope.
