Default Anyone run Porsche Brembo "Big Red" calipers on the Corvette?

If so, does anyone make a bracket to make these fit? These calipers are very nice and are fairly easy to get.

I think you can get the adapter kit from Brembo. I had them on a Dodge Stealth Twin Turbo I once had. Have you looked at the CTS-V Brembo caliper? I think they may fit without a bracket to the spindle mount. I went with the (C6 Z06) J56 PBR Brake kit on both of my Z06s.

I don't think they are Porsche Brembos though.

The brembos on the porsches are not the greatest for stopping. Our PBRs stop better then the Big Reds.

I have driven lots of P cars with Big Reds and I thought the car was never going to stop.

That was probably a pad issue and not the calipers. The 996 TT/GT3/C4S calipers are 4 piston monoblocks with slightly larger piston size compared to C2 996 calipers. They are nicer than the 993 calipers.

NO, my brakes are NOT the big reds for Porsche.
I have the Brembo Gran Turismo 4 piston kit designed specifically for the C6.

No the p-cars were equipped Pagid race pads. Same with the 996s

What many ppl dont understand is the PBR Corvette Caliper was deisgned to work as if not better then the 4 POT BBKs. 4 pots = smaller pistions area then the Corvette PBR 2 Pot.

Look long and hard. Read as much as you can and if possible drive cars with those brakes.

PBR failed miserably to make a decent caliper for anything but street running.

The stock PBR are in no way comparable to the Brembo GT kit.
The Brembo have much better feel and modulation, They DO NOT fade, the Brembo have much, much more stopping power, it is not even close.
The difference is shocking to say the least.

Changed my brakes to the Brembo GTs with Hawk Black pads 3 weeks ago. After track days on them, I am one happy camper.

Love them!

I replied to your PM. My car has a MovIt kit using the 993 Big Reds which are not the mono block. Ultimate Garage offered up a nice deal on a MovIt kit using the 996 Calipers but that was 3 years ago?
