Default maggies on the track

just curious as to how many people do HPDE's with a maggie equipped C-5? Anyone running a non-intercooled maggie out there? I don't see how the tiny IC that they run can be very effective.

Just put a Maggie on my 2004 CTS-V. Was at Pocono last Thursday doing the long course. I used to top out at about 148 on the back straight, with the Maggie it was 163. So definitely a difference.

And the sound...

I also track my C6Z. But I really like throwing 4 Hoosier in the back seat of the Caddie. And did I mention the sound.

We have seen a few. HEAT is the killer of any suppercharge, and without the intercooler the heat is even more. Then do to the higher speeds Brakes tend to fade real fast.

WHen they run they are fast. Most dont last a full 25-30 min session do to over heating or major brake fade.

i'll be installing meth injection at the same time as the maggie. Am i still looking at heat issues with that or will that pretty much take care of it?? I have no problem installing a BBK on the car... i'll find a way to slow it down.

Thanks!

so i take the drag racing comment to mean that this car isnt gonna be much of a road course car after the maggie/meth install? I'm actually building it to be a wicked streetcar but will use it for HPDE when my track car is broken.

That is correct.

For HPDEs, No offence, dont bother with the Maggie, let alone the Meth.

Most road race tracks will not allow N2, or Meth injection anyway.

Have you done any HPDEs?

For modifications start with contact patches:

Brake pads
Brake fluid
tires
Seat
Harness system

Then HP adders after 10 or so track events.

Granted Contact patch modifications are not as sexy as HP mods, but a heck of a lot safer.

i've done about 11 or 12 events (summit, WG and VIR) and have a dedicated track car (RX7) that is undergoing some new mods... Guess it's about time to get the track car put back together then, huh?

Thanks!
