Default Tire comparison....for what it's worth...A6...NT-01...A3S05..R3S05

I ran all sorts of tires at Grattan last weekend

Saturday

I ran Nitto NT-01 275 17 ft & 315 18 Rear for two sessions these tire were purchased new the beginning of last session I'd say they have about 20 Autocross runs and about 10 track day each with 2-5 20 minute sessions so let's say 40-50 heat cycles.

Best time 1:27.6

Than the last two sessions I ran Hoosier A6 up front 275 17 & Hoosier A3S05 295 18's out back the A6s have about 15-20 heat cycles & the 05s have about 19-24 heat cycles.

Best time 1:27.494 ( I had metal showing through the one rear tire about an 1 inch ban all around))

On Sunday

I ran the same A6s up front with 2 more heat cycles & a set of R3S05s in the rear 295/18s ( bought them as scrubs so I have no idea how many heat cycles)

Turned a best of 1:27.465

I ran two hot sessions on each combo.

My conclusion old Nitto's are just as good as old Hoosiers

For a reference point last year when the Hoosiers were new I ran a 1:27.2xx from a dead stop at the beginning of the straight with the start finish in the same spot.

I'd say new hoosiers sould be good for at least a second.

Good info. What is the longevity of the NT-01? Say compared to RA-1s for comparison if you have that data. I'm leaning towards one or the other for DE's.

I would guess the NT01 will last longer because the compounds are very similar if not identical and the NT01 has much larger tread blocks that will help eliminate some of the wear the Toyo's get with their rather smallish tread blocks.

Just a wild *** guess

My NT-01 still have about 50% life left and I have a ton of track time on them I believe they really don't drop off nearly as much as the other tires.

I don't have new NT-01 data vs New Hoosier but I would believe the Hoosier are faster new, but I have run the NT-01s competitively against people running Hoosiers and Kuhmos.

I think new Kumhos and Hoosiers are faster than NT01s but I think their performance drops off quicker then the NT01s. They are cheaper than the Kumho and Hoosiers...

FORGOT?

Yes, we did it. Mary and I won LIM and IM in both high and low speeds and group 1 FTD's in the High speed. Nice young guy, local SCCA driver named Micah (?) got me for low speed group FTD.

Congrats.

Yeah, when I just saw the pictures posted I was like DAMN! & to think I could have driven down run the Hi speed and come home

Maybe it was because I was too busy teaching my ringer to take Mary down

Default Where to/how much/ purchase Nittos?

Where did you purchase the Nittos from? What sizes for your Z? I've burned thru Sport Cups and Hoosiers and am looking for a "longer" wear DE tire. Thanks, Greg in SW Mi. (Grattan 1:27.8 Gingerman 1:31.5 Mid Ohio 1:49.4 Road America 2:35.6)

Discount Tire $225 each for 315s shipped to your house...

I paid way more than that, maybe they lowered thier prices. I got mine though Discount Tire as well. I'm running 275/40 17 up front and 315/30 18s in the rear.

Great times, anything done to your car? Mid-Ohio times look slow I'm thinking I'll need a 136 ish there.

315/35-17s are the size - just ordered two more. One reason I switched to 17s...
