Default 2008 LS-3 update with LG Pro Long tubes and a K & N air charger

Hi guys,

My guys have been sending me graphs from the 2008 Corvette all day but I did not get the one with just our headers. The numbers are 418rwhp 413rwtq with just LG Headers no cats.

Here is the graph that includes the K&N Air Charger on this 2008 LS-3 with the M6 transmission.

These numbers with just headers and filter match what a cam only car with headers and a filter use to do. So in effect the extra cubes and air flow in the heads matches what a Cam package would give up in the past.

thanks for your patience. 423rwhp 426rwtq with Just LG Pro Long Tubes and K&N!

Tuning software in a couple of weeks.

Graph below Stock LS3 with M6 trans and dual mode mufflers Vs same car with LG Pro Long Tube Headers and K&N air charger:

I assume the stock car has cats, while your system (in this example) did not. Any #s with high flow cats and headers?

Nice... L92 heads are awesome... a nice big cam will make that car even better.

Nice Report just courious if you halve results from a LS2 with the same setup, how much hp did the LS3 gain comparied to the LS2...

A bunch... If I remember correctly LS2s were only making 380ish, but w/ a little more torque than a LS6.

The LS2 was/is showing major gains w/ a cam only and a FAST manifold. I believe LG was making 440ish cam only.

LS3 has .2 more displacement and the advantage of the L92 heads w/ larger valves.

Looks to me like the new ls3 is the ticket...looks like bad news for me when I try to sell my 07 with the ls2. I have no idea what it makes stock, but I imagine a good 20-30 less if not more.

Nothing wrong w/ an LS2... they make 360ish stock so yeah 25ish rwhp less. LS2 has a slightly smaller bore, different intake manifold, and LS6 heads vs. the new L92s.

I've been going nuts being without a Vette for the past year and thinking I might try to pick up an '07 C6 at a good price this summer/fall. The performance bump in '08 changes all that, however. The new LS3 car really narrows the gap to the Z, and if I can get a good deal on a used one in the months ahead, I'll finally have a car I can take to the track again.

I knew you wouldn't be able to hold out.

It was like when I was 14 and said I've got to quit doing that, I'm going to hurt it, but within a couple of days, I'd be back doing it again!

Cass... why not get a used T1 car or something you can beat up hard on track?

I'd love a new C6, but not for a track car. I'll take an arctic white vert w/ a tan top and red interior

Hey Brian... Yeah I'd like to have dedicated track car but I'm going to settle for a dual purpose car that occassionally gets tracked. I like the idea of excellent stock power and a factory warranty. The recent C&D results for the '07 Z51 at VIR vs the Z06 and GT3 were pretty impressive. The '08 car should be more so. Of course what I REALLY want is an LS7 Z. If used Z06 prices drop enough I'll step up and get one. An '06 in the mid 50's would do it.

Crewing has kept me sane this year! At least I've been able to get to hang-out at the track once-a-month or so. Of course you need to start kicking some Factory Five butt or I may have to turn in my Big Pine Key T-shirt. Mid Ohio next weekend should be fun.

Cass - I might try to sell my 07. It is a little $$ to have two right now, especially since I could use the extra cash for ST2 racing! Plus, the dakota is up on lease this winter and I would like to try to get something with a little more grunt to pull the car around.

I drove an 08 z51 car at the NCM VIR event. It was a nice car, but did remind me of driving my GF's lexus...very refined compared to my z06.

Did very well for having runflats, and I was able to hit over 150 mph on the straight, and still get it to stop. Not bad. The exhaust is very cool.
