Default C5 tire size question—just so I'm clear...

Yeah, I did a search, and I think I know the answer, but just so I'm completely clear before I start loosening nuts:

Will 18 x 10.5s with 315/30/18s fit at all four corners of a C5 without any issues? How about 345s in the rear?

I know some of you have this setup, but I wasn't sure if it was on unmolested cars or not.

Thanks

I can't answer your question but this might help:

305/35/18 RA-1s fit without issue on a moderately lowered C5 Z06. This is on Stock C5 Z06 rear 18x10.5 wheels used at all four corners.

I ahve a 2000 Coupe....running thin spoke Y2K rims...

10.5 inches wide....I have 295s on the car, not sure I would go bigger without going to Z06 wheels which people run 315s on..

This is just personal experience, never tried 305s or 315s...

345s are too big and will stick why out.

335/30 x18 will fit but stick out about 1/2"

315s work up front too but again can stick out slightly.

Stock thin spoke C5 wheels are 18/9.5 and the Z06 wheels are 18/10.5.
295s will fit on the thin spokes but are standard size for the Z wheels.

Just for info, I run 17 275/s in front on a 2002 coupe w/Z size 17/9.5
wheel and that scrapes my brake duct extension, ACI, if I remember.

That's what I figured. I just tried my 315s on 9.5 inch wheels on the front and didn't see anything close to being an issue. I can't imagine the 10.5 wheels would be any worse. Having the ability to rotate the tires would be sweet, too.

That was the idea, four tire rotation. The offset of the Z06 rears does put them out quite a bit but I have no rubbing on the front even running on a banked track.

Rule of thumb is to have 1/2 wider wheel track up front. When you go to a larger rear wheel this is hard to maintain.

Can you elaborate on this? I'd guess the track width of the front is about 1/2 to 3/4" wider that it was stock. Since I changed the wheel size and tire size at the same time I cannot conclude exactly which had the greater effect but the stock steady-state understeer I was dealing with disappeared on the track.
