Hawk HPS pads

I ran some at Road America and did have fade, I could feel that the brake ducts would bring them back quickly though. There would be a series of corners and the brakes would just start to get ineffective then a straight away witch would bring them back to working. I have read the HP+ do better. I decided to just run Carbotechs and leave the HPS for the street.

I have been using Hawk HP+ (one step above HPS) for HPDEs at Mid-Ohio and Putnam Park, and I seem to melt them off every time.
I'm going to switch to Carbotech 12s - front/10s - rear.

I am on my 2nd set of HP Plus. They have been very good so far for me.
They were fine at VIR.
I think a lot depends on drivers style and different tracks.

I've learned my lesson with high perf. street pads on a track. I won't be doing it again. The pads need to be able to deal with the heat or they will start to tear themselves apart.

they do fine for me, better on lightweight cars. They wear quickly, but at half the price of true racing pads, it's a comprimise I am willing to make much of the time.

HP+ .
HPS definetly will not stand up for too long.
On my ST2 car, the HP+ pads are awesome. Great grip, no fade, but the car only weighs 2950lbs (with me in it). In the C6Z06, I still experienced no fade (even doing 170 with slicks at VIR), but they required more pedal effort than a DTC70 or HT14.
Again, they performed well on both cars, and FOR THE PRICE are very good.

VIR is rather easy on brakes if you're in the novice or intermediate HPDE group. The Z06 OEM pads will work. I would go to an aggressive pad if you are using R Compound tires.
