The Bentley prototype at the vintage race was doing 2 minutes flat. I thought that was fast.

Old video. The Billy Mitchel bridge at turn 13 was removed this winter.

2:49 is pretty quick.

1:49 is well... It's so fast there almost isn't enough time for a running narrative!

Flat thru the carousel??? And then flat thru the kink. They must have huge amounts of downforce.

Track record is a 1:39.xxx by late 90's Champ car. The ALMS and CCWS are up there this weekend.

I think that is a really good video showing the line at RA. A lot of people say RA is a late apex track, but that video shows it isn't if you want to carry speed through the corners.

Yes that is the first thing I noticed, How easy McNish makes it look.

What do we constantly tell ppl at driving schools? Smoothness.

I think I saw somewhere the
T1 vettes were 2:32 - 2:29
WCGT 2:19- 2:21
C6.R 2:01 - 1:59

Video was from the 2006 warm-up or qualifying session

Lance Knupps T1 Lap record is a 2.26.xx.
That's honking in a T1 car. I've seen cars at DE's in the low 2.20's amazing! I've been waiting to see Danny Popp run with NASA.

The most amazing thing for me is how fantastic the setup is on the car. There are virtually no steering corrections at all - almost like a slot car or video game. That , gents, is far more impressive than the guts and skills at the wheel. McNish is a maestro to read the car well enough to have the mechanics get it so right.

June Sprints qualifying times:
http://junesprints.com/eventresults/...Qualifying.pdf

we are race group 6

Lance qualified at a 2:24.9

Bulk of the field was between there and 2:28.XX, though the slowest T1car ran a 2:36.

Remember: T1 cars are stock motors, stock airbox, stock exhaust manifold, stock rear gear ratios, stock brakes, fairly stock suspension (T1 bars and springs, most of us running Penskes or Motons for shocks), etc...

Great, you would only be lapped every 4 laps by that Audi....

Bourdais is at 1:42.385, interestingly the 3rd slowest Champ Car qualifier Paul Tracy is at 1:44.716, not that much faster than McNish in the Audi, Magnussen is at 2:00.973 in the C6R, fastest GT1. That is one fast Diesel!
