Default opinion on rearend life, c5 vette...

Hey all, I have the entire driveline dropped for my Level IV automatic transmission replacement and I've been thinking, while looking at the parts strewn about the garage floor... about replacing my 3.15 rear with a 3.42. My 3.15 has 50k miles on it, and some of those miles were very hard track miles.

What I'm wondering about is the 'posi' rearend clutch life. I've not noticed any slipping problems yet, so I was wondering what the opinion on it's life might be, from some of the old timers on this board who might actually know. My only other reference is my '68 Mustang rear, that was pathetic after 180k, so I really don't have any 'inbetween' information for this type of rear end (clutch disc).

Any input would be appreciated.

thanks
