Default Motive Power Bleeder

How much pressure to run with this power bleeder and do you run it wet or dry? It would seem to me that wet makes the most sense, ignoring the fact that you may be wasting a lot of (expensive) DOT 4 brake fluid.

Thanks, Geoff

up to around 30psi is safe in the C5/C6 systems. I usually start at around 20psi, and then bump it up if it is flowing too slowly.

I use a Nitrogen tank personally, and just stop off and top off the master. So I personally go the "dry" route.

wet--brake fluid is dirt cheap compared to other expenses-but donot leave fluid in the bleeder for long periods as moisture will build up in the fluid.

Do not put brake fluid into the power bleeder, just put fresh fluid into the MC and dont let it run dry. Normally that is after two calipers.

The ABS needs 12 PSi to open, so more then 12. 15-20 is a good pressure to start at.

I tried it wet the first time I used it and it was a mess... Didn't really do as good a job getting the fluid out... So now it's dry and I just top off the system afterwards...

On my Porsche, we only put 12-14PSI in it...You guys are running up to 30#? WOW...

Mike
