Default What tap/die do I need for C5 wheel studs/lugs?

I'd like to have them handy just in case I ever need them. What do I need to buy?

tap and die won't do much good if you strip one. Keep some spare, good lug nuts, and some spare studs aren't a bad idea either.

I do keep spares... but the rears are not changable at the track as you have to remove the hub.

It is a real PITA to change them, but I did when I had everything apart for the Pfadt urethane bushings. I used ARP 2.5 inch long GM 12mm and cut them down to 2 inch (under the head). As you said, the rears are not easily servicable but at 2 inch long, (but not at 2.5 inch) the fronts are replaceable. I cut mine on my lathe, but with a hex die or nut that is split, it makes a nice clamp in a vice for a saw that cleans the thread as you turn it off.

having a die to clean a "buggered" stud is handy - it will save a paddock replacement or the end of the day....

A tap is not needed - carry spare lugnuts and heave the buggered ones...
