C4 Power steering?
For the second weekend I've cooked my power steering fluid/pump during autox. Has anyone replaced the stock cooler or add a second one. Also how much do the turnone pumps run?

I would just get a Turn One pump and then be done with it. I know a lot of f-body guys who run that with no cooler with great results. I think the pump is around $225.

IS this typical for all C4's that track?!?! How long are you running it before you cook it... IT sounds like they should last longer than that!!

I put a aftermarket auto trans cooler in front of the radiator on mine and the overheating problem is gone. My son and I both drive the car and we make a lot of runs in multiple event weekends.

I've seen some small power steering coolers that will easily fit where the factory Z51 cooler would fit. The small auto tranny coolers work fine too.
That, along with some Red Line synthetic PS fluid, you should be fine with a good quality stock pump.

Fluid can make a difference. I do not run a cooler on my 88 track car and have never had a problem. I use the NAPA power steering fluid and drive fairly hard. I know some folks are using ATF and I think that may be causing some problems.

The cooler is not the main issue, it is a poorly design pump on the C4. I have a factory PS cooler and on long auto-x course and even worse a road course the PS just doesn't cut it.

The last few autox have been long. I have had 315 on the front for three events the first one short and the last two long and higher speeds. I do agree about the design I really don't like the fact the pump is right up against the motor.

Turn one rebuild is $100 (plus $15 if you want a -6AN fitting installed). I just got mine back. Picked up a rebuildable core for $35 from vette-to-vette so I didn't have to lay the car up.

I had Turn One rebuild my pump (94 6spd). I just got back from a Watkins Glen HPDE with no problems. My brother and I share the car and ran back to back sessions with no problems for the first time ever. We used Valvoline Synpower fluid.

Can Turn One rebuild the early C4 pumps? My 87's pump works fine for autocross but the last track day I did, it got pretty noisy even though there were no problems with steering. It's the original pump so I figure it's due for some sort of "revitalizing"
I run Red Line PS fluid but no cooler. I swap out the fluid each year to make sure it stay as clean as possible.
