very few people use chromolly these days, as it is hard to weld properly and the gasses used are dangerous.

Anywhere from $4000-$12000 for a real, top notch cage.

Cromoly is like Communism, looks good on paper but just doesn't work that well. I went to welding school and we talked for days about all the problems with it. Too many risks for a little weight savings.

West Coast folks should consider TC Design & Fabrication (http://www.tcdesignfab.com/) in the SF Bay Area.

last year it was high 6's I would think DRM north of you can handle it a well. I would contract it out to meet a spec like SCCA or WC then you know what you have and it would be better on resale.

We do!!! About 4500 dollars for a trick T-1 style cage. We use the basic DOM steel 1.75 .120 wall. That price includes all the fun stuff like trimming the door pad, dash and fun things like that.

As always your a BIG help. I didn't think about resale -though I do plan on keeping it forever ( how many times have we all heard that! ).

Bink it's NOT just the cost of the cage, but the cost of the SETUP!!! IF you plan to race a C5, you can't do better than to buy a well set up (WINNING) T1 race Corvette. That way you also get a "setup book" for each racetrack that you will run on.....priceless!

at my age I have sold a ton of stuff and I regret it because it was paid for and had a lot of free fun left in it. I didn't get a chance to use my car yet since last Oct. due to sick pet sitting but I still got to look at it which was a help.

Mark McMahan in Akron OH - all he does is cages.

Some of the Ohio based teams just use him now (TC Kline, Nanamakers, HART). His work is excellent and he typically can't be beat on pricing either because he specializes in just this.

We can do the job. We have done several SCCA Corvette roll cages. We are in the western suburbs of Chicago. PM me and I can send you some pictures of the C6 we are currently building.
