Toyo RA1 vs Nitto NT01.........tried both???
#2
The RA1 is more comparable to the 555R2's. Both have more tread. The NT-01 is more of a slick. Actually, when the NT-01's wear, they go to nearly a slick. The RA1's and 555R2's maintain their tread pattern.
If it's a street driven car, you can pretty much forget about driving it in the rain with the NT-01's.
Are they going to see dual duty or be your track only tires?

Melting Slicks

Dual duty, but its a garage queen most of the time. Inclement weather wont be an issue. Ive spent over a year on the NT01s, and love them. Was just wondering how people rate the two against each other.

I can't speak about the Toyo's.
The Nitto NT-01's have been really to me. All I can say is due to the lack of tread, they are noisy as &^%$ on the street. Also, if you get caught in the rain, park it!
I drive mine to the track. They have been fine, except for the noise and the rain. The grip is fantastic once warmed up. I use the street tires for personal use. No need for racing tires on the street IMO.
