Default C5 Door Repair

Apparently you can buy a replacement door "skin" which is just the outside and costs half what a full replacement door costs.

Has anyone ever separated the skin from the shell? Is this doable? Just adhesive? Seems like a simpler repair for a door where only the outside skinis damaged.

Thanks,

I separated one once when I hit a tirewall at sears point. I backed out, and half of my door didn't.

It is "glued" together around the outside perimeter. I imagine standard polyester resin would be fine. but I think getting the old one apart, the joint cleaned up, and the new one on would be very time consuming.

I would scour the salvage shops for a complete door at a good price before I'd personally reskin, Your body shop can do it for you, but that would also be expensive.

have had good luck with Gene below, the other seems OK but I've never dealt with.
