Default Had a blast at the BMW Autox last Saturday! (long)

Well, the Lone Star BMW autocross season is over until next year. However, we had awesome weather and some really wild cars coming out to play. The course was the tightest I've run out at Mineral Wells with the BMW group; about like what we run up at the bus lot at Texas Motor Speedway. About 50/50 1st and 2nd gear, kept you very, very busy! Tight, but a lot of fun.

Here's the video of my best run of the day (only got to run the morning heat):

One of our members brought out his camera gear and took some great pictures. The pictures are a little large, but not too bad:

The motley Vette crew: Left to right is CleteZ16 (his first event, glad you came out!), Vettedrmr, RobertEarl, jtkeller (behind the group, sucking wind trying to catch up. symbolism, anyone? ), and mcintx.

Here's Clete getting his first cone kill:

Here's me with a speed shot:

RobertEarl coming out of a M type corner:

jtkeller getting a wee bit late in the first slalom:

and mcintx in a bit better position on the same slalom:

And, to complete the Vette contingent: (another newbie!):

And here's some shots of some of the other kinds of cars we compete with in Class Z:

A wicked quick modded Evo (29 psi boost on 117 octane racing fuel! ), driven by an excellent driver on V710s:

A newcomer, a supercharged Elise on sticky tires:

And one more, representing the 'Stang crowd:

Hope you enjoyed the show!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Mike

Mike, I may be old enough, but he wasn't my son. His dad drove a BMW.

Mineral Wells is a great place to play. I have run there for several years with SCCA and Equipe Rapide. Sure miss it since moving back to KY a couple of years ago, but still work in DFW, so occasionally I get an opportunity to run there from time to time. I ran an ER event there LAST weekend...
