For the C6 we sell the Brey Krause unit. It is very nice and mounts to existing holes also. Check it out here.

Yep, no problem. It sandwiches between the stock hanger and the frame. The factory studs are plenty long.

Howie, sorry I can't find a picture from below. I will try to post that next week. To answer your question, it can easily be installed and removed for track days. It is just two 13mm nuts holding it to the factory studs. Honestly, despite how the picture on our race car looks, it really is tucked under pretty far. You would have to work to bang you shin on it. The way the C5 butt sticks out causes it to be pretty well out of the way.

John, It works very well on the front, but you need to drill and bolt it on. It is more of a project. I use it there. We are putting together some pictures and instructions for it's use on the front.

For the rear installation is a 1 on a difficulty scale of 1 to 10, on the front it will be more like a 4.

I'll be interested in the front as well soon, after getting my nose bent from getting towed off the track it seems like a GOOD idea now

Here is a under car shot of the Rear Tow hook installed on the Driver side.



The Tow hook is designed to use the stock muffler mount bolts.

The picture shows an aftermarket exhaust system that doesn't use the stock muffler mounts. It can be used in conjuntion with the stock muffler on either side, driver or passenger side.

Those nuts/bolts for that hanger aren't very big. You can tow a car without breaking those?

I have the Ti exhaust on my C5. I havn't looked under there. But sounds like the bolts go throught the holes in the hook and exhaust bracket then into the car frame. So this doesn't cause one exhuast to be lower than the other does it. Do you have it in black??

You're correct. The exhaust will sit below the hook using the same mounting position. By installing this into the same position as your exhaust, you should not see any interferences.

Tow hooks are usually made of bright visible colors so you may be pulled from the sand as fast as possible. We do not have any in black due to this. I admit black would look nice on most cars. But i am not sure how useful it would be.

As far as strength goes. The tow hook has been used on our race car for over a full season and have had no issues to date. And we've had it in some pretty hairy gravel pits Keep in mind that this is a "tow hook" and is meant for pulling, not for lifting.

any pictures of the front install? does it go through the typical opening (where the screens are on a stock z06)?

Here are a couple of photos showing the installation of our new C5 front tow hook. The placement can be on either side. The install will require the removal of a few under hood panels, drilling 2 holes and inserting 2 rivots into the frame. Installation is easy and looks great when finished! The tow hook will come with fluent instructions for all, and has great photos to guide you through. If you have any questions you can call any of us at Pfadt and we'll be more than happy to guide walk you through!!

The price on this new product is $90
and it comes with the Tow Hook, 2 Bolts, 2 Rivet-nuts and a simple to use riveting tool. The only difference between this kit and the rear is the extra hardware.

I want to install the front Hook but am a bit nervous about pulling the front bumper off. Your web site says it is not necessary to remove the bumper, but you say on this forum several body panels have to be removed. Please explain the procedure.
