Check photos (second row middle)
I can't get to photobucket from my current location or I could post some better ones.
Not pretty but functional.

Great, thanks. I'm looking for something with a little more shape than just flat across and I'm keeping my door panels as well. One of the coolest I have seen so far is what Jeffvette did to his where it roughly resembles the shape of stock dash.
Thanks again!

I have some photos of custom dashes I built. They are not corvettes, but they can give you an idea of what can be done. If you want to see just let me know how to post a photo as I cannot seem to figure it out.

I sent some photos off to RUKWKR. There are two dashes. One from my old #3 car and the second of the most recent car I built (still work in progress) and campaign. The wide dash is the old car and a simple piece of thin aluminum with a single fold along the top to stiffen the panel. There are some very light aluminum brackets that attach it to the roll cage cross bar. The other dash in the blue car is also a thin sheet of aluminum, but I built a lightweight frame for it that I welded to the cage and the dash panel attaches with screws. There are threaded inserts in the frame. The electrical panel is held on with some dzus fasteners for quick removal. The first panel is something that could easily be installed at home with minimal tools if you have a roll cage with dash bar.

She appears in several photos of the car hosted at CustomClassix.
I see that there is a footnote mentioning that Evan's car sold to a
buyer in NZ.

Yep - I'll put the tach right in front as well, as it should be.
Is there some type of covering over the transmission tunnel? It's hard to tell from the pic.
I'm actually wanting to recarpet everything including the tunnel and I'm wondering if they'll be able to "form" the carpet to the tunnel well.

Here is mine
The dash face was cut out of 1/8" thick aluminum on a water jet. I had enough sheet left over for one or two more faces. They will be cut out next week.
The dash top is an early C4 dash cap meant to cover a damaged or cracked OEM dash. It's a very thin sheet of plastic and weighs less than 2 lbs prior to installing hardware. You can see it here:

I now have the gauges installed, but no new pics. I still have a lot of wiring to do.
