Default Wheels and Tires?

I'm looking into what wheels and tires to purchase for Auto X this spring.
I have done some reading and I'm definitely thinking 17x10 and 17x11's.

Any suggestions on wheels/tires?

Any used race tires for sale?

I currently have Hoosier DR's for the drag strip and I run Nitto NT-01 road race tires on the road. I have done an auto cross with those tires and it stuck pretty well, but I want to move up to full slicks this spring.

My setup is in my sig, but its a STS TT car and I hope to be around 600 or a little lower to the wheels by the spring.

Suspension is T1 bars and Pfadt Coilovers.

Suggestions?

Have you thought about trying an HPDE session on a professional road course track, e.g., Summit Point or Watkins Glen? Sounds like your vette is setup for something more than autocross. Just a thought. If you're looking for 17" wheels for a good price, I know several have purchased OE Wheels ZR-1 replicas on Ebay.

May want to bookmark these two sites (there are many more, but these are a good start) for reasonably priced local HPDE events: Mazda Drivers and Track Daze.

Go to CCW and buy there Classic track wheels. You can go with 17x11 front. 17x12 rear. Either Hoosiers A6 or Kumho V710. That would be your fastest setup. PM me if you need backspace specs.

Steve
