I also use Redline PS fluid in my 87. I had to swap out the rack and pinion unit last year and used Redline fluid on the install. No more noises at the end of a track day.

I do flush it out at the start of each season so I have fresh fluid. Maybe overkill but it may help keep the original PS pump working for a few more years

Another vote for Redline. Got rid of the cold morning "sluggishness" in my C4.

I went to Valvoline Synthetic Blend and then to Redline - after reading a BUNCH of testimonials for different brands.

I have the Redline in mine as well. There is no PS cooler on mine and the pump used to really start to moan loudly after a few laps. With the Redline fluid it only moans softly. There was a big difference and it still has not blown up, which surprises me.

Redline.

Rumor has it that the Redline power steering and ATF is the same. Some of my Redline is red (like it's ATF), other times it clear.
