Default Aussie V8 Supercars

Anyone else getting their winter fix from the Aussie V8 Supercars?

5 Liter, 650-680 HP and 1350 kilos, about 3000 lbs. These guys can drive.

Taking down the Xmas Tree and decorations watching the Aussie cars this afternoon. That looks like a fun series - fast and close

I watch a few in late December while I was at home recovering from surgery. Gold Coast circuit from Queensland. That is in an interesting race track and those boys are not afraid of a bit of "rubbin is racin"... Fun series to watch.

They are really cool. I saw them live in Australia once at the Second Creek track and they really go like mad - like 180mph plus on the straights of a road course. They are compared to NASCAR occaisionally , but I went and had a close up look and the are more like DTM cars... they are very expensive to run, it is the top series in Australia.. They have a lot of other good racing as well - the same day I saw F1600, the Supercars, the Ute series (supercars with El Camino bodies both Ford and GM), the Porsche Cup (which had about 50 cars in it , all of which were more than $400K each plus operating expenses) , a series like Legends cars but with Holden bodies, a series for the Subaru and Mitsubishi ralley type cars and a touring car series. All of that was for $35- admission and unlimited grass seating that allowed you to get right up to the fence. There must have been 50,000 people there and they were all really superfans. Reminded me of the way it used to be here when TA and CanAm would run together with a full card of other things. If they did that kind of thing here , I think our motorsports would really make a big comeback.

Is that the Bathurst track with the elevation changes? If so, a great race and an interesting track. A variety of turns, elev change and fast and slow turns..

if it were up to me, this is what NASCAR would be. To me, this is like a cross between NASCAR and Touring Car racing like DTM.

Am I the only one that hates the LMS shows? Just show the race... the DTM and Aussie V8 shows are great, though.

Dont hate them because they have some good clips, but it is frustrating.

Great racing. The Bathurst 1000 at Mt Panorama is one of my favorite races of the year.
