Who's run Laguna Seca in their 'vette?
Did you have trouble w/ the 92db sound limit? Yes or no, what is your exhaust setup & mods? I'm running a '02 Z06 w/ a built (stock displacement) motor, LTs, ORX, and stock Ti. I'm guessing I'll need to short-shift the 5-6 hill, but is that going to be enough or will I get the boot?

You'll be fine with the stock Ti setup. I don't get to go to Laguna until April, but I've got my Ti setup setting in the garage ready to go on. My track partners car is an 02Z, h&c, Dynamax LTs, and the stock Ti exhaust. He's 86 db at about 70 feet at the top of third. My stock 01Z with Dynamax LTs and Borla Stingers is 96 db same spot and rpms.

Last time I was there, which was far too long ago now, they were getting smart and moving the sound station to various locations left and right... the downturn on the exhaust really does help, though.
Last time I was there a guy got booted for a sound violation from his differential whine. :-(

My rotary is pretty loud, especially when the secondary turbo kicks in, much louder than your car, I'm sure.
I got "meatballed" on the second session for hitting 97db. There were plenty of corvettes out there with me (February of last year). None of them got black flagged for sound. Two other cars got hit, both were rotarys. I believe that the higher pitch is what does the rotards in. There were several pro-touring cars out there with us that seemed much louder than my car, but none of them had a problem
The remainder of the day I just short shifted past the booth and continued on my way. If you go over the db limit a second time, then your done for the day.

It does depend on the weather. I have been black flagged there in the past with a 97 1LE Z28 that only had 120 miles on the clock and was absolutely bone stock. I have seen cars fail because of solid lifters, gear whine and other crazy things. The big houses pay taxes to the county and the county owns the track. When I first started going there it was a military base and they did howitzer and tank training so sound from the cars wasn't a big factor . You might notice that there are large areas of emptiness when you drive in from Delray Oaks. Unexploded ordinance = nature preserve...

Laguna is perfectly setup for a Corvette. High Speed BIG BIG Straights. Straightforward setup. Make sure your brakes are up for it.
The Corkscrew is so fun. It's like dropping off a cliff.

I've done a bunch of races there but never driven a Vette there.
Hell, Sears Point getting just as bad. At a SCCA race you now have the normal SCCA sound guy and the Sears Point sound guy. So you can't be sure that point the exhaust one way or the other will help.

Given how loud some cars are at LS with the sound, I'm surprised it
gives anyone a problem. Some RX7's can be really loud in the paddock
not to mention the front straight. With Magnaflow on my C5 Coupe it
has never been an issue and they are about the same as C5Z stock,
at least at WOT going up the hill out of T5.
Now it's just a question of good weather for the Feb dates.
BTW, LS is also a county park, not privately owned so there are even
more politics dealing with the locals that moved in close to the track.

I really do not care what they set it at, I have wanted to drive that track more than any other for decades, I will muffle the sheat out of my car to be able to do so
