Brembo Gran Turismo Race
bowmanized is proud to announce the unveiling of the Brembo Gran Turismo Race Edition for purchase. This system is custom made to order for each individual order and requirements.
Make no mistake this a flat out race setup, intended for use on the track more than street.
As you know, our Gran Turismo (GT) applications are complete systems designed per vehicle to work in conjunction with all factory settings – GTR follows the same philosophy, using components from Brembo’s race division. However, unlike Gran Turismo, GTR is not for everyone – it is intended for a car that will spend more time on the track on the street. Like a race system, GTR can produce squeal and chatter from pads and rotors. Dust boots are eliminated to reduce any drag on the pistons). If the customer wishes to make this application a bit more civilized, this is certainly something we can accommodate
Titanium Piston Inserts
Ventilated titanium inserts keep heat from transferring from the backing plate of the pads into the caliper body, as well as reducing pad and fluid temperatures

That is a good looking system --- a couple of questions.
1) How well do they work with the stock master cylinder - is there enough volume to keep the pedal up to an acceptable level.
2) Cost for front and front/rear conversions.
3) Link to site for full info - are caliper brackets included - they are shown in the pic--.
4) I am assuming that 18" front wheels are required - correct ?

18s at least.
Really this is a totally customizable system including to some degree rotor sizes. I have 15" rotors on my car with 18" CCW.

WOW that is way too expensive for my pocket book !!!! I could purchase 4 sets of Stoptech or Wilwood front and rears and enough pads and rotor replacements for multiple seasons for that kind of money !!!

Guys, I understand they are expensive and I can't afford a set either, but not everyone has financial constraints and I would like to offer this as a FULL RACE setup.

The new Brembo GT (Gran Turismo) Monobloc systems are the closest thing to a full GTR (Gran Turismo Race) system that has ever been offered to the public. The rotor assemblies used in the GT systems share the same technologies such as 2pc. fully floating disc assemblies, and offer similar amounts of unsprung and rotational weight advantages.
All of the rotors used in GT or GTR systems come directly from Brembo's top level racing division.
The calipers also share similar technology for weight savings, and improved stiffness for superior pedal feel. The calipers fpr GTR come directly from Brembo's race division, while the GT calipers are specifically designed and manufactured for the High Performance division.
Only recently has it been possible to offer a true Monobloc caliper at a price point that suited the High Performance division (where the GT kits come from). The GT calipers do offer with a few additional benefits that make them more appropriate for street and/or track use, while the GTR calipers are a specific design to utilize ever bit of technology primarily for the track.
GT Calipers offer:
- Integral caliper bridge for optimum stiffness.
- Pad retention hardware for assistance with off brake drag, brake squeal, and pad knock back.
- Dust boots and pressure seals to ensure long life without the additional maintenance of rebuilding calipers.
GTR Calipers offer:
- Integral or removable bridge for maximum rigidity and stiffness.
- Forged billet aluminum monobloc designs for the greater weight savings, and superior stiffness.
- Titanium piston inserts for an added heat barrier for the caliper and brake fluid.
- Quick release pad retention for easy pad changes, and inspection.
- Floating pad design to prevent off brake drag and the most precise response upon initial application.
The GTR systems are only available through select dealers, in limited production, and are definitely not for everyone. Every year thousands of teams in nearly every top level racing series in the world purchase these types of systems for the competitive edge that Brembo offers. Since both styles of systems share many of the same technologies and design elements, it will be a personal decision whether your driving style and intended use can benefit from the use of a GTR system.
