Been following along for the last couple of years. Very good read and interesting perspective from a "gentleman racer" that's done pretty well.
Who could ask for a better way to live? Dancing on that clinically sharp razor's edge between an ego confident to let you think you deserve to drive fast, really fast, and the hubris that tempts you into trying too hard and then suffering from the consequences of driving beyond a car or a track's physical limitations. This is why we gather here to push those limits and beg for a smidge more luck than the next team, so we can first finish and if lucky enough to finish first, see those little black and white checkered blocks flapping from the starter stand, closing another chapter in racing's history. I have a feeling this year's race, with the depth and quality of this unprecedented field, will produce some very memorable racing moments.

Come ride along.
