Track Pads for StopTechs...
Hello All,
I'm in the process of ordering StopTeck 355mm Big Brake Kit and I will be using whatever pads come with the kit as a package but I wanted to order some pads to use for track days and I'm somewhat confused by a couple different opinions...
Which pads would work best for track events?
1. Pagid Black
2. Hawk DTC-70
Thanks for any input.
Mike

i've tried the dtc-70's and didnt like them...for hawks, i prefer ht-10's and 14's...i have no experience with any pagids
i've been using pfc-01's in a 4 wheel stoptech kit since mid 2006 and love them...i liken them to ht-14's with better/smoother release characteristics

I have a customer that has used both the Pagid black and the DTC-70's he liked the DTC-70s because the had better performance, the Pagids just didn't slow the car down as fast, but he did get almost double the life out of the Pagid's.
I've had good results with the PFC-01's also but DTC-70's are cheaper and seem to work just as well.
The only drawback I've seen to the DTC-70's is that they wear out quicker.

I have been using the PFC -01's with my Stop Tech's. They are not cheap, but they last extremly long and work great IMO. It's worth the extra money for how much longer they last.

I've run both pads in an ST-40 caliper/355 mm rotor on a 2003 Mustang Cobra at Road America. The DTC-70 was better hands down in terms of stopping and wear. The Pagid Black couldn't handle the temperature and started to crumble. The DTC-70 is fairly easy on rotors in my experience.

thank you all...
Thanks for your input. I guess I will try the Hawks and then try different ones as comparison if I don't like these.
Thanks again.
