Default track car progress

We are about 75% done with the 10 pt cage.

Carbon front end with splitter and radiator hood scoop, also features carbon hood with louvers

Engine bay with 427 Warhawk (shooting to make 700+ hp NA on 104 octane race fuel)

New carbon front dash

Rear carbon fiber wing w temp supports. Final supports being fabricated and will tie directly into car chassis.

We have pulled a ton of weight off the car. The car with ½ tank of gas originally weighed 3,150 lbs. The car presently weighs approx 2,270 lbs, but we will be adding approx 300+ lbs. If we can keep the car around 2,600 lbs that would be great. We shall see!

Thanks again to EPP/Eurosport Racing who’s building this monster (& DRM for great advice). Great job!

PS. Hat’s off also to Short-throw for talking me into this craziness and being the project “Ninja”.

Nice project car and a great total car weight. Wish mine was at that weight instead of 3050#'s!

Love those rear wing supports. Just like mine with the Bowtie logo! But I modified mine to reach down to the frame. Got them From Kerry Hitt at ACP?

Question, why a C5 body and not a C6?

Also, I have a another thread running now on my fading engine oil pressure problem on my 405 CID 700 HP / 620 RWHP, Aviaid Dry Sump, Ls6 motor. Pressure slowly fads over the length of a race and with increasing oil temps. Did you sleeve the lifter bores on the Warhawk or was that not necessary?

FWIW I run 110 octane Sunoco.

Mine are from Kerry also. I'm am also going to tie them into the frame. Great call.

Good question. I'm a real C5 fan. I also got a very good deal on a 2002 Z06 as the base for the project. I've always loved the C5 Z06 lines, plus Kerry's Z11 kit for the C5 is one of my favorites.

We are doing a bunch of things to help keep the oil temps down: air flow to the radiator and a 2 stage external oil cooler. Our oil delivery system is the Dailey dry sump.

I will have to check with Bob at EPP on that.

Snitz,
Arlington Heights, eh. Do you go back to the days of MSR / Motor Sports Research (speed shop and engine builder) in Des Plaines that was located on Oakton St right across from Grand Automotive anothe speed shop? Early 70's to late 70's.

We moved to Arl Hts about 15 years ago. I wasn't around the area back then. Sounds like you've been a RR enthusiast for some time! That's great!!!
