Default *** SKF Racing Hubs from LG Motorsports - $350 ***

SKF Racing Hubs are now available from LG Motorsports.

Introductory pricing: $350 each!

ARP studs available for $29.95 per hub with FREE INSTALLATION!

LG Motorsports would like to introduce a performance hub for your C5 and C6 with the heart of a ZR1. SKF manufactures the hub unit for the ultimate Corvette, the new ZR1 and is offering the same technology to the C5 and C6 owner.

The SKF Corvette Racing Hub unit is designed to provide high stiffness during cornering, thereby reducing piston knock-back and the need to tap the brakes (confidence tap). It is also designed for durability and to maintain preload at sustained loading of 1.2g! All this adds up to faster lap times and better driver feedback. If you have upgraded your Corvette's performance, you will want these SKF hubs.

You gain increased stiffness for better brake performance under high loads, higher preloads, <10 micron run-out and much increased durability. Under race and competitive use you may go an entire season without replacement.

Improve your Corvette's handling, brake performance and hub durability with these new SKF Performance hubs.

*Introductory pricing will be available until Christmas 2008*

They came to two local Corvette Clubs with a presentation on these hubs and I asked about C4. Not going to happen.

BTW, cross posted, see also http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...post1567573632

Can you explain how these hubs reduce the need to trail brake, and for that matter, why you would want to?

It works best in light vehicles that have their brake bias to the front

That line came right from SKF's literature and they are confused for sure.

What I think they meant to say that with piston knock back you will have a long pedal (which you will) and you will need to tap the pedal to get it back up. I don't know how they inserted the phrase "trail braking" in there but they probably had a girl write the pamphlet and something got lost in the translation.

In reality, we have all experienced the dreaded "Long Pedal" and had to deal with it. Call it what you want but it is not fun. At Long Beach, toward the end of the race, you are flying around the 160mph high speed sweeper, loading the bearings on the left side, and it took a couple of "confidence taps" on the pedal with the left foot, just before the brake zone to make sure you had a firm pedal.

Another place that the bearings caused knock back was the esses at Road Atlanta, heading into turn 5. that was always a good one.

foot to the floor on the gas, and tapping the pedal with your left foot to overcome the brake knock back.

Jonathan needs to change that to read "eliminates the need to tap the brakes" in place of "need to trail brake".

At any rate, forget what they said, you know what them mean.

Thanks

Lou G

I use SKF hubs on my C4, front and rear.
they are the only hubs to last on the track.

The fronts are hard to get, the rears you can get from NAPA.
