I'd like to load up a camera on the outside of my car for a road course event. Is this allowed? And if so, please recommend me a setup. I have a camera, but the sound is horrible b/c of all the wind noise.

I did a lot of research back in the spring and at that time they were having problems with some type of radio interference causing horrible audio buzz. Also, some of the units had bad optical sensors which caused a very fuzzy and bouncy picture. Do a YouTube search on the gopro and you can see for yourself. There are a lot of cool videos where guys have them mounted their radio controlled airplanes.

I have heard however that those issues have been resolved.

Here's the stuff we used in the film industry, and I use on my car....

Look at the single suction cup mount and add a safety wire.

We use 500 pound test nylon covered deep-sea fishing leader wire with crimped connectors. Then loop the other end around a fixture under the hood. door, or hatch lid.

I've gotten approval from the NASA director with the safety wires in time trials.

Great info. I'd still need a better camera b/c off all the windnoise coming through my current camera. Or is there something I can do on the mic to reduce the amount of windnoise?

You can try putting tape over the microphone. That seems to help mine. The other (and better) thing to do is to use an external microphone if your camera will accept one. I would do that, but my camera does not have a port for one.

Take a look at www.cam-fx.com They have anything from one to 4 cameras and glass suction cup mounts to roll cage mounts. Its a nice system, we have the two camera set-up and can now look forward or backward. Sometimes you want to see who hit you from the rear as well as what you are doing on the corners from the front.
