Locals told me up there they have a few days of summer
Sucks I guess you went slow. How much longer was the tow home? Was it all the way home in the snow?

Melting Slicks
we once did a May event up there. woke up sat morning at the senaca, and there was 2 inches of snow on the ground.
we were both parked on the grass with R - tires.
My buddy with Hoosiers couldn't move. neither forward or backwards. completely stuck. traction control going crazy.
I had new Kumho victor racers, full tread. drove right out, no problem.
we winched him out by his tow hook, and slowly drove to the track.
sun came out, WGI cleaned up, and we were running by 11 am.
and till this very day, I say,
Kumho Victor Racers are truly a dual purpose tire.

From my house to most tracks, I have to go over Donner Summit, 8,500 feet! Coming out of Sacramento on I80, the cops have the road blocked off, checking for snow tires and chains.
You not only have to have chains on the truck but one axle of the trailer has to have chains for the brakes. Fun What?

The other vette was parked on the side of the road. I think he realized that he better wait for the snow plows to come through.

Yea, it's nuts but, I'm glad the California Highway Patrol makes you chain up or at least checks snow tires. I've been stuck on top of this mountain because of idiot drivers, it can snow 3 feet in 8 hours. It's amusing to watch the flatlanders in 4 wheel drives who think a fwd brakes better than a 2wd. I always wave at them when they're in a ditch.
I've done the Pa. to WGI many times but never towing.
When I tow in the snow in the mountains, I add a little brake bias to the trailer, helps to cut down on the jackknifeing a bit.
