Default C5 Z06 - Super Stock - side molding removal

I'm looking to get an '03 - '04 Z06 next year to supplement the Camaro in my cone dodging endeavors. Problem is that I hate the look of the side molding on the Corvettes.

According to Doug Gill, I can legally remove the molding without having to touch anything else if it was a stand alone option (which from my understanding it was).

Sooooo... was this a stand alone option? If anybody has a copy of their order sheet showing that it was stand alone (if this is indeed the case) I'd really appreciate it if I could get a copy of that for supporting documentation.

Thanks.

You can remove it----no worries-----stand alone option. Comes off with a heat gun---

You're good to go---

Thanks Dave.

I figured they would come off easy with maybe only a little heat. The moldings came off my truck with only a warm day and some peeling.

Due to my lack of speed to this point in the Camaro and the likelihood of the same condition in a Corvette, I wasn't really worried about getting protested. But I also want to be 100% legal because I do run the big events and there's always one in the bunch somewhere....

If anything, the BSM's are more aerodynamic, so removing them should put you at a disadvantage.
