These are totally different. A good friend of mine is the one who designed and produces the ones mentioned above. This is the first time anyone has known about them publicly.

This product is brand new. There will not be much information available yet. Sema was the first showing. Awesome piece. You can adjust ackerman and roll center with shims. Very cool feature that you only see on trans am type cars as well as lemans level cars.

I was told they would be less than the current pratt/miller, 3R, etc. spindles. That being said they are much nicer in many ways.

Yes, I received information on them about a month ago and we should have a set inbound to us soon. Speculated price at the time was $5500-$6500 for the set. The PM set is that per piece, so multiply it by four to get them from PM.
Thanks

MSI/ I have been working with Julio and Terry at JME for the past year on these. We met last year at SEMA when I was checking out their modular spindles and associated pieces for Mustangs. At that time I was looking for a more cost effective solution for the drop spindles that were on the market. We wanted to be able to lower the CG of the C5 & C6, while keeping the roll centers up and the camber curves where they belonged.

Last November I provided them with C5 and C6 spindle/uprights and we have been bouncing ideas off of each other since then.

The spindles offered by Pratt & Miller and LG are one piece and I believe are well over $5000. The JME modular uprights are currently 4 piece. This allows for adjustment to ackerman, camber curve, roll center, and can provide a brake caliper anchor for radially mounted calipers that will not require and intermediate adapter plate. The plan is to also be able to use these in applications were we are mounting "Corvette" suspensions on other cars and would like to get rid of the sealed "bearing/wheel speed sensor" and convert to a more standard spindle shaft with conventional hub and wheel bearings.

MSI will be offering a group purchase on these products within the next thirty days so stay tuned.

I am pretty confident that I can put a GP together for $4400 for a set of 4. I'll need 5 sets to make this fly.

Holy CRAP those are purdy! I'm in the middle of a book on suspension design, and these are now the types of parts I dream about.

I'd have to get mine with an OEM GM Part # stamped on them so they're T1-legal.

Does anyone happen to know what the factory kingpin angle is for the C5 uprights?
racesengdesign, is there any geometry changes other than the upward movement of the hub?

trackboss- our uprights lower the car by 1 1/4" and we move the lower ball joint to add a degree of negative camber.

Both look like excellent products. I saw the JME's at PRI and one of the things that appealed to me is the caliper adapter. The ability to get rid of the whole secondary caliper adapter and mount a radial mount caliper directly is really good idea. I would like to see the FEA models on each if you have them, and the weights of each.

ghoffman- thanks for the compliments. I agree the JME upright is a great product and nicely executed. At the time we were developing the upright the ability to use a radial mount caliper without a secondary adapter was not in the design criteria.

We do not disclose FEA results to the public but I can tell you that our uprights have been used by multiple world speed challenge teams for the past three seasons.

The upright starts as a 11" x 14" x 6" blank of 6061 Al weighing 75lbs. When we are done machining the finished weight is 6 lbs. The picture below shows the beginning of the first machining operation.

Perhaps the modular adapter could be a rev. B? I hate to carry around 2 more M14 fasteners, 2 more M12 studs and a lump of aluminum (per corner) if I don't have to. I was curious to see the strain energy density on each design for a couple of load cases. I publish some of our FEA but not all, I understand if you chose not to.

Wow, that sounds like about 69 pounds of scrap aluminum for the beer fund. Hum, times that by 4 for each car...

With that much scrap, it is no wonder that their price is what it is.

Thanks for the info Jarrett.
