Default 25 Hours of Thunderhill - Who Will Be There?

I'm going to be there for the first time this year and I'm very excited. Anybody else from here going to be there? Here's my ride for the weekend:

~2500 lbs (w/o driver)
~600hp

They've got the car running in the 1:54's at Thunderhill now - lots of fun!

Been there 6 or so times as either driver or crew but not this year. It gets a little cold and boring as a crew guy.
The front running cars just get faster every year. That one looks like fun.
This is a great race, NASA does on hell of a job putting it on. And there's more lighting that there was a few years ago. This is my "home" track (2500 laps) and I almost got lost one year at 3:30 a.m. But, I was driving a boring car.

You're gonna have a blast.

I'll be there working as a crew guy for Aaron. I'm hoping for boring. Last year our car(Steven Rea's Porvette) took a bunch of hits and had a mechanical failure too. It sure was challenging and exciting. Unfortunately when it's not boring, you're losing positions.

We won the 25 hours of LeMons last year and might make this event. sort of a last minute effort so not sure it will all come together. Have a Spec Miata for this event. Had a Nissan Altima for the LeMons

Very True.
Had to change an engine two years ago, fortunately we had a garage rented.

This sounds like a lot of fun! How many drivers can you guys use for the race, I'm guessing around 4?

Don't know if I'll be there, but I'll certainly be pulling for you and that purdy machine, Mikah!

Yep, 4 drivers - on my team at least, and I believe that's the norm. We'll each do 4 ~ 1 hour and 40 minute stints. I'm really excited and hoping to learn a lot, race clean, and have a great time.

Thunderhill is an interesting track and I can see where losing concentration even briefly could quickly put you into the dirt - possibly at a high rate of speed!

I know I can drive the car fast... in the dry in broad daylight. I have a few concerns about racing at night and/or in inclimate weather. This car has no electronic helpers of anykind, no ABS, no power steering, nada. So, if it gets wet out there, it will be very interesting. That and the fact that there will be 70 cars out there - at least at the start, so there will be lots of traffice to dodge for at least 24.75 of the 25 hours!

Thanks for the well wishes guys, I will have tons of pictures, video, and a full writeup on the website shortly after we get home.

I heard that Aaron Pfadt and maybe even Danny Popp would be joining me this year. Would be cool to meet those guys!

If my goat didn't end up about 100 yards up in the dirt after the straightaway, then it would boil the brakes after about 15 minutes .

Good luck in the race, seems like it would be really tough to stay focused for that length of time. I could barely pull an all-nighter in college, much less now .

At nite, it's like racing in this big, white tunnel with things popping into your view very fast. It seems surreal at times.
It's good you're in a fast car, watching the headlites dance and get bigger and bigger in your mirrors when you're in one of the slower classes is nuts "Please don't hit me"

If it's wet, ALMOST all the corners at T-Hill have very good runoff.

Guaranteed to be one of the highlites of your driving career.

You heard correctly! Danny Popp, Norm Goldrich and I will be joining Aaron behind the wheel for 25 hours of insanity. I feel honored to be included with such a fast and professional group.

We hope to do the Corvette name proud!

Is it one of Aaron's car or is it another someone else is building?

I might stop by and say hello. What time does it start? Noon or midnight?

We will be driving his C5 test mule race car. Most everyone has probably seen photos - silver, black and orange!

I just met Danny and Norm for the first time. They are first class all the way, just like the Pfadt organization.

I think I am looking forward to meeting a bunch of CF members almost as much as the racing! Aaron, Robin and their employees are putting together a significant effort so come by and let him know it is appreciated by the Corvette community!
