Harness Bar Questions
I need to have a harness bar made and was wondering about the specifics of the ones already out there. That is, do you know the specifics of the metal used?
Aircraft Spruce has a 4130 1" tube with a .188 wall,,,, as well as some 1/8" 4130 plate for the mounting. Thoughts?
Thanks!

I also used Aircraft Spruce to make mine. I used:
03-55300 4130 SHEET 6" X 12" X .125" $8.28
03-10800-4 4130 STEEL TUBE 2X.065 4FT $26.40
Total cost was $50. It's gas welded to federal aircraft spec. It only weights five pounds. Pay very close attention to mounting points and hardware.

Haven't started it yet,,, but based on your experience I think I'll go ahead. I got my seats back from final welding yesterday and they came out quite good I think. I had them in the chassis last night for the first time. Here are some pics berfore the final welds.
Where the harness bar will end up leaves a less than ideal angle for the harness straps, that is the straps angle upwards through the seat to the bar. Not the best but I'm not sure if there are any real alternatives,,, but I'm looking.
Thanks for your thoughts!
