Default Thinking Coil Overs? Check out what we've been working on

If you're in the market for coil overs, add another great option to the list. Well, add it in February 2009 because that's when the new Pfadt Featherlight Generation coil over series will be available.

These will be the lightest full-featured coil overs for the Corvette.

We've been testing prototypes on our cars and on the shock dyno for about a year. We're finally close enough to having our first production batch ready that it's time to share!

Yesterday Josh and I were working on some final dyno tuning. Take a look at the shock on the dyno...

The Featherlight Generation of coil overs from Pfadt have a lot to offer:

1. Inverted design for lower unsprung mass
2. Aluminum body
3. Made in the USA
4. Pfadt custom delrin spherical mounting system
5. Hypercoil Springs (rates to be released soon)
6. Single adjuster for both compression and rebound
7. Adjustable body length allows ultimate ride height flexibility
8. Non-emulsion design with separate gas chamber

Our Corvette-specific shock body design incorporates our delrin spherical mounting system...

Ultra-light weight like the name implies, the Featherlight coil overs from Pfadt will provide the ultimate in construction, design and easy track-day tuning.

The adjustment ***** are easily accessed by reaching behind the wheel so you won't have to modify your car. The really cool thing about the custom design of our adjustment ***** is that by Summer 2009 we'll have available in-cockpit adjustability. You'll be able to tune your suspension damping from the comfort of the driver's seat. Stay tuned for the cool features and interface of this option!

This launch of the Featherlight Generation single adjustable coil over is only the beginning. Our next coil over launch in mid Summer 2009 will be the Featherlight Pro Series. The Pro Series will feature an external remote canister and independent 2- or 3-Way adjustability.

Expect introductory pricing to be $2500 - $2600. February is only a few months away!

Will the Pro series have in-cockpit adjustability?

And what price range do you expect for the Pro series (I almost hate to ask because it will probably be more than my budget)

Thanks,
Matt

Matt,

The Pro series will have the option of installing our remote adjuster kit. The rebound adjustment on those will be in the same place as the adjustment on the Featherlights. We are still deciding whether we will offer remote Compression adjustment (probably) and integrate that into the controller.

The thought is that the Pros will be $1000 to $1500 more than the Featherlights depending on 2 or 3 way. That development is still ongoing so some of the features (and therefor costs) are not firm yet. These Pro series shocks are going to compete head to head with the other high end coilovers on the market.

If any of you will be at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) show this weekend in Orlando, stop by the Hypercoil booth to check out the Featherlights in person. We'll have one on display in their booth.

We aren't set up this year, but Josh and I will be walking the show.
