new track in starke, fl
anyone have any feedback yet from this track. They have open track days that appear to have good prices. Its close enough to central fl and Georgia residents. Looking to go in Jan. Open track days sound really enticing.

There was a good write-up on the track with some pictures a couple months ago, but I guess it got dumped when the forum did their software "upgrade".
I live in Central Florida so I was stoked about a new track opening up, but after looking at the pictures of tall "jersey barrier" type concrete walls lining the entire turn and very close to the edge of the track, I decided I'd rather drive farther to somewhere else where they have some run-off room.
BTW - only 2 weeks until the Daytona HPDE!!!
I don't know whether there are slots left or if you can still get in, and it ain't cheap, but it's DAYTONA!!!

One separates the track from the paddock parking area and the other appears to separate the pit out from the track. The walls appear to not be very friendly. Another potential hazard appears to be traffic going opposite directions is only separated in one portion of the track by about 50 feet of hard packed limestone type gravel. No barriers were in place when I was there to keep head on traffic from coming into contact should one of the parties loose control and spin off into the other.
I have not run the track and it is does look like a fun track from what I could see. Spectator viewing areas are very limited and you can not see much of the action on track.
This is the closest track to me by far and was disappointed to see those two issues. I hope they put a barrier between the two lanes. You can take it easy around those two corners to mitigate the wall risk but the head on issue is a bigger concern.

Thanks for the replies. The walls are startling close and would demand going slow. Could be good practice with self discipline. Oh well I have till Jan to decide . I just need and want a cheaper , closer and more convenient track. DUH! LOL doesn't everybody?

I'm sure he was saying they should change the track layout with an earlier turn, not to turn early on the existing turn.

That wall is in the hairpin. If you look here you'll see that there is only about 1000' of old runway on the other side of the wall. You wouldn't want to go spinning across the pavement, would you?
I like the one blue barrel at the exposed end of the concrete wall in the middle of the track. That's taking safety seriously.
