Default C5 Rotors: What are my OEM replacement options?

Too bad this thread is 5 years old.

Would have been great to have been able to get at the prices in the thread above.

What have you guys found in recent times?

We make a 2 piece rotor to replace the stock C5/C6. We use Coleman Racing rotors made to our specs and machine the hats ourselves. Our rotors are 100% made in the USA, directional, vented correctly, slotted only - no holes, and weigh 3.5 pounds less then the stock rotor.
These are real racing rotors, not some cheap chinese junk that will fail prematurely.

The front rotors are $320 each. Replacemant rings when needed are $155 each, bolt kits are $15 each.

If interseted, call us at:

I just got some a couple months ago at NAPA and they were $40. Still pretty cheap though. Most people treat them as a consumable.

O rly?? Prices are running around $65 each and I would be looking carefully to see if they have a "Made in China" staming on them.

Another place to look for stock rotors is Rockauto.com. I bought some Raybestos Professional Grade rotors for about $45 each.

As mentioned, rotors are consumables for track days. Even at $100 a pair for the front, you don't have to worry about destroying high-zoot rotors. And I stay with stock rotors as the low-end drilled rotors will crack in a relatively short period of time if you do track days where heavy braking is required.

Check racepages.com too, they have rears starting at $25 and fronts at $35 with free shipping. I've been using the Centric rotors at $47. I like having them delivered.

This last season I was getting my NAPA Rotors (made in China) for about $42. The store I was dealing with gave me a discount on the parts. They actually had 5 or 6 different discounts but found one with a different store code from across the state line (about 10 miles) that gave me the $42 price.

Is there any truth to the fact that Autozone will warranty their rotors if they start cracking?

Several years ago I bought a rear rotor at AutoZone, and they gave me a warranty.

I don't know whether they still do.

They give a 2 year warranty on rotors. If you start bringing in cracked rotors after a couple of weeks use they might rethink their practice.

The parts store guys never see severely used rotors and are amazed at what a couple of track days does to the rotors. The guys at the NAPA store where I buy my rotors had never heard of them cracking like we see after a couple of track days so I took some back several weeks after I purchased them so they could see. They had only seen rotors that were severely rusted or had some heat checking before and were completely surprised at the burned rotor edges and the large crack one of their rotors had in it after I put 4 track days on it.
