Default Accusump Parts List Needed

Has anyone put a parts list together to install an Accusump system in a C5? I found plenty of pictures and setting discussions but haven't found a parts list. Or who sells it in a kit form for a reasonable price.

My new motor should be alive by the end of the month and I want to take necessary precautions so that this motor survives track duty this year.

Thanks,

Rob

The big thing you need is the 16x1.5mm to AN adapter. http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...nresults=false Then, you only need one line to the valve, and no check valves.

So you'll need:

Accusump
EPC valve
-10 Hose (use the good braided stuff) - needs to go from the gallery plug to the EPC valve, and then from the valve to the sump.
Fittings:
Hose ends (use straight into the block, straight into the EPC valve), plus fittings to get the sump to the valve.
-10 to 1/2" NPT adapters for the EPC valve
-4 hose for the air inlet
some other whack adapters to get the schrader valve into the hose to fill up the sump (I don't remember those)

Other advice: build a mount for the accusump clamp to mate to the frame rail at the bottom, you can use a simple plate at the top. Other other advice: mount the valve inside the engine bay. I've had a the valve solenoid and the pressure switch both go bad. Mounting them in the fender sucks cuz I have to pull the fender off to fix.
Yet more advice: mount the oil inlet side of the sump at the top, so any air in the sump will get purged.

Is this the adapter to the oil galley at the left front of the block? David Farmer's website lists a part number, but I did not find it on the net. I will be doing this when my oil cooler is finished. TIA.

Yep, thats into the gallery plug on the left side of the block, just like Farmer advocates. He uses (or used) a 90deg adapter where I used a straight.

Looks like earl's doesn't make a 90deg anymore:

http://www.holley.com/types/Metric%2...20Adapters.asp

Only straights. Any of the 16x1.5mm adapters wil work, I just chose to use a -10 input. -8 would probably work as well. -12 would work, but overkill.

this is what I use.

btw, I agree about mounting it outlet "up". It is clearly advised in the instructions, but I see many of them mount completely flat, which can trap air and cause the piston to jam (due to imbalance of air at the top, fluid at bottom)

Thanks for the responses.

I'll see what I can put together. I like the idea of connecting to the ignition to get the auto pre-lube.

First the motor has to go in.

Thanks

I used this fitting: http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/pro...asp?RecID=5067

and a 45 deg 10-AN fitting. Perfect angle up and over to mounting the accusump in the fender area.

That's how mine is setup so you can pre-lube the engine every time before starting.

Hope this diagram helps:

That was exactly what I was looking for.

Dave,
Is this the same for my 05 LS2?

Getting ready to pull the trigger to protect the new motor. One more question. Which EPC valve do I use. I am fairly certain at idle the oil pressure (hot) will dip into the 20s.

I went with the Canton Racing ACCUSUMP ELECTRIC VALVE KIT (24-270), but I may upgrade my setup to the ACCUSUMP EPC UPGRADE KIT 20-25 PSI (24-271K). I haven't seen oil pressure at 25 psi or below at idle when hot. I run 10W40 synthetic.

I think the 25 psig kit is as low as they go. Call Tim at Canton 203-481-9460. He will give you the info you need.

Thanks for the tip. Tim was super helpful. I am going to go with the 35-40 psi. If I am every below that PSI for a sustained period, I will have to shut it off. I was just worried that if the pressure dropped while idling due to heat, I would have an extra 3 quarts of oil in the pan.

What did Tim at Canton say that made you decide to go with the 35-40 psi vs. the 20-25 psi EPC electric value kit? I was leaning toward the 20-25, but you got me thinking again.
