There will NOT be an NCM event at Road America this year due to a conflict with other planned NCM activities.

So far NCM has firm 2009 dates for VIR (June 29 & 30) and another event in the West Coast that I don't have details for.

Work is being done on events at NJ Motorsports Park, Putnam Park and Autobahn Country Club. Dates and details to be published as soon as the arrangements are finalized.

local Vette club says the NCM has an event schedule at Rd ATLANTA Aug 10-11....I'm assuming that is a mistake.

FINALLY the left coast gets in on the fun. NCM will co-sponsor an event with David Ray's HOD at Thunderhill in late July!

That would be the mon & tues after NASA SE event. Would be nice but thinking its not likely. I have been told that there is not enough runoff room at RA for a NCM event.

I am with you Dave. Must be a mistake.

Road America was on the NCM's schedule for August 10 & 11, but it was cancelled.

Bob, I have not heard any negative comments from the NCM regarding run-off room at RA. The cancellation of this year's RA event is due to a date conflict with other NCM events previously scheduled. Other workable RA dates could not be arranged.

By the way, there are some other famous tracks in the East where the lack of run-off room comment applies. Won't mention the names, but racers all know which tracks I mean.

Road America was cancelled for 1 reason, Caravan and Labor Day Celebration will tie up Events Dept resources for all of August. With 10k+ attendees there is a wee bit of preparation necessary.

I think Road ATLANTA is what he meant for runoff room. RA ≠ RA

Road Atlanta has "contained" runoff. Actually haven't thought much about Rd Atlanta because it's hard to get, just like Mid-Ohio. I liked running Rd Atlanta other than the time we were 3 wide in turn 6. Turn 12 really doesn't leave any room for mistakes but that makes it sort of self-controlling.

Thanks for letting me disclose the event. Meeting with NJMP later today to settle final details.
