Any IRL Fans Here?
I've been a long time open wheel race fan. Looking forward to the 2009 Indy Racing League season. May go to the pre-season practice at Barber Motorsports Park the weekend of March 21.
Any other fans here?

Never been an IRL fan. Was a CART fan, Champ cars too but that waned. I don't like Tony George and his attitude. The current cars are lame looking and are pretty much spec. racers.

Went to my first Indy 500 in 1985, haven't missed one since.. I consider myself an open-wheel driver first because I still own a couple and started my racing in them.

cormer CART fan, ovals are just plain dull. I've watch the last few (road/street) races since CART died, but the teams and drivers seem to be in a bit of limbo until the dust settles.

I've been to several races.
I really liked them at Mid-Ohio
I wish NHMS had won their bid
Looking forward to the non-spec racing coming up.
I wish the split had never happened, as I enjoyed CART as well, even worked as a race official, but what can you do.

I am a fan. The split was possibly one of the worst things to happen to racing in America. Now that that CART is gone and you could say they have kissed and made up hopefully over the next several years open wheel will get back to where it once was and belongs. I also hope that we will soon see a 50/50 split in ovals and road courses/rovals/street circuits.
