Default Corvette Racing WILL win GT1 at Le Mans this year...

...because Aston Martin won't be taking part!

They are concentrating on the LMP1 category.

http://pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=19288

I won't bother going this year, the GT1 race sounds as if it is going to be as boring as the last few years ALMS as far as Corvettes go. No competition!

If there's no competition I wonder if they'll take the GT2 cars?

Someone said they were going to try to enter GT2 as well this year. Not confirmed if their entry has been accepted yet though.

It looks like LMP2 has been gutted.

No invite for the GT2 car to go. Plus I don't think GM would want it's first flight to be at La Sarthe.

Ok,, So what's the point of even racing the GT1 car? (It is not racing if there are no other cars in the class,,, It is welfare)

I guess GM didn't get scolded enough for flying jets to Washington DC begging for money.

And at the same time they canceled Corvette Quarterly magazine for the next 6 months for lack of money? And they banned "Mechanical pencils" and only allow wood-lead pencils to save money??

When GM took the gov't money they opened the door to be dictated to by Government.

what people do not understand is the government is usually the training institute for a lot of the workforce. So everything is going to be run by the people with no experience and no skills.

Plus great benfits will be had by all government workers. Next thing we will be running the USA like they do in France. Broke and getting broker. Wait a minute we are already there and going there.

Don't worry, we will just print more money.

if they didn't take the money they would not even have a door to open by now. They like the deck stacked big time in their favor so when they can say GM won it justifies the money spent even though it is boring and stupid. They could have been in GT2 from the start of the year but beating up on nothing is there game. Joe Blow still thinks it was a victory if he doesn't know or follow racing.

auto biz is in collapse world wide and if the stimulus package doesn't work we are in big trouble. I would like to see how many WC teams race as many of the enteries are car dealers I believe. Sponsorship is drying up every where as corps skimp on pennies.

Don't be looking for that GT-2 factory supported Vette in the short term. P&M are having big problems getting the chassis to work with the stock aluminum frame rails and attaching a steel roll cage to it.
They should just send Lou a big check to uphold their (our?) honor for this year!

They're already nationalized.

With each dose of TARP funds the gov't gets a huge bunch of preferred stock @ 5% and warrants exercisible with in 5 to 10 years.

I'd pretty much say the banks have been nationalized.
