Cool Magazine Article (AutoX)
I didn't even know there was a magazine covering a past event that I raced at.
Shhhhh. Don't tell the Mustang guys that I was on ancient, corded Hoosiers. I don't run with good tires at Brooksville. If I knew a magazine was covering it, I would have put my brand new set of Hoosiers on.
I actually found the in-car video from my 37.873 winning run.

Cool article.......
I played the video ......what's up----seems like only half speed ?
Who was driving the Mustang ?
Was that Gary Braun or Matthew Thomason....? Or maybe it was Ken Motonquiche ?
PS....see you on Sat....Mr. Ellis

Dave has lambasted me for ever saying the C6 Z was not optimal for autocross.
If I can start to beat his ASP car with my crap car, maybe he'll come to the dark side.
Disimo and Lehman are my last targets at this venue. I'm coming hard and fast and have the budget to stay on great tires at all times.

"That's right, we dropped the Q500 right in with a frenzy of Corvette Guys, and while we were giving up some 400-500 pounds in weight to the svelte sports cars..."
"With two people aboard, the Q500 had to weigh in close to 3,900 pounds, if not a bit over that. Not exactly lightweight, but at least the car was balanced."
I guess they failed to mention that "Ellis" weighs 290 pounds AND had a passenger on that 37.873 run.
Let's see..
Z06 3,200 pounds
Ellis 290 pounds
Passenger 185 pounds
3,675 pounds.
OK, we had them by 225 pounds, with corded, bald tires too boot.

Craig----
Now---now----last event you drove well----I barely out paxed you....but my top speed was like 86mph.
Regular autox......your wheezing LS7.....well get smacked by my little C5.
Of course if this year you start to travel a little, and leave your sandbox.....
Well lets just say it gets harder.......
Although on the other hand you might have some talent....
But be careful......your head may not be able to fit inside that car....if it gets any bigger
PS---I will be driving on junk tires at the practice...can you take me straight up ?

We'll come up with some kind of bet to make it interesting. Bear in mind, I'm hosting 10-12 new people from the Forum and where I work. I'll be giving a bunch of people rides in the Z, tearing up the Junk Tires. I will switch to Sunday's rubber near the end of the day for some FAST runs.
I'm shooting to match or exceed your 29.4 from last month. I think the Pfadt sway bar is going to be a big surprise.

BTW, you were correct about the people I beat being nobody. I think the magazine showed up fully planing on winning outright and bragging to all their loyal Mustang readers that they beat all the Corvettes.
Brooksville has NO competition compared to Buckingham. I have been FTD at Brooksville every event since I got the Z in October '08.
I'm just glad I was there to keep them honest.
I can't wait for Dixie.
You running the Serpentine in the Keys? Joan and I will be there.

Glad to see you two can have some fun and some good natured ribbing.
I'm looking forward to running against some good SS competition so I can see just how bad a learning curve I have to go thru. We have NO SS cars that run more than 1 event a season...

My Co-driver (Joan) has won in SSL before at Dixie and I'm counting on her winning again in March. I want some free tires.
She runs with the boys in SS here with Dave and I locally because she has no competition otherwise. It's no fun to run by yourself.
Lehman has been one of my mentors through this entire process. I love him to death. He's as goofy as a $3 Bill and a great driver.
You have to set your sights on the best you have at your disposal if you want to get any better. Lehman and Disimo are my targets.
Hence why Dave is kicking me out of the nest onto the National Circuit.
Other than Dixie and Lincoln, I think I'm going to run at least one more event. Possibly Houston.

Yes, basically the top guys here have told me to shoot for the PAX times and see how my times compare to them... since they're running ES ( both trophied this past nats ), and there's a few other cars to judge on, I can use them as a benchmark to push me.

It's cool that you guys get to run year round. I did think about driving my Z to someplace warm for a weekend autox. It's just such a long haul to anywhere warm from here.
The only racing around here is indoor karting. 6.5 HP just isn't the same...
