While $1.05 million is a lot of money it's a lot less than someone paid for the 1962 Gulf Oil car last year. That car went for $1.485 million.
The Grand Sport that was for sale never even reached reserve. Bids stalled out at $5 million. The expectation was for something in the $7,000,000 area.
Yes boys and girls the market is down. Times are not good. Despite what the magazines say about the prices B-J was down by about $20,000,000 this year.

Some folks have way too much money to spend. For that kind of change, I would have a new Zr-1 for every day of the week and have enough left over for the insurance, care and feeding of all 7 for the next 10 years. To take that much and put it in a "Investment" that you can't drive and enjoy seems rediculous. But in this hobby, it is what ever floats your boat as long as it is a Vette !
