Seeking oil cooler advise.
I'm considering one of 4 different packages:
1. Dewitts Complete package - radiator with built in oil cooler, block adaptor and braided lines.
2. LGM complete kit - radiator with built in oil cooler, block adaptor and braided lines.
3. Phoenix Performance custom external oil cooler kit. (I will still add an aluminum radiator)
4. DRM external oil cooler kit with cooler, block adapter and braided lines. (I will still add an aluminum radiator)
The car is mainly my track toy with very little street time. The motor is stock. I'm looking to keep temps under 270 during summer track sessions. My biggest priority is an effective, well designed package without headaches down the road. Second priority would be ease of installation. Does anyone have experience with any of the above packages? Thanks!

you usually get cooler oil with an external unit, although the packaging is much nicer on the integrated units. Installation is never easy on the cars, soyou can take that out of the equation.
I've used LG's and DRM's kits in the past with great success.

I installed the Dewitts setup with my H/C 346 and the temps went down drastically (coolant and oil).
Wehn I switched to the LS7 with dry sump I kept the Dewitts and it still works great. Of course the LS7 dry sump has the external oil tank which I am sure helps too.

Do you have the left or right side built in oil cooler?

I use the Pfadt Racing unit & it is very effective...I also have a Dewitts rad to keep my coolant temps down. I would keep the units seperate rather than add heat to the radiator...both oil & coolant temps will be lower

Ex: Shown is two stage oil cooler with a Dailey Dry Sump. The size of the supply lines and fittings will impact temps also.

I use a setrab core, LPE block and bought hose and fittings myself. I spent ~300 if that on the entire thing, mounted it right in front of the rad, and have never had a problem with it yet.

A combined unit will cool the car sufficiently. Either the DeWitts or the Ron Davis unit sold by DRM.

That is what I did, B&M cooler(mounted rt side radiator), LPE block adapter, hoses and fittings from Summit, cost less than $300. You can go to Earls website, and they have youtube videos on how to cut hose and install fittings. That is what made me decide to do my own and save the $300.

Running a Ron Davis with integrated here. Kinda wish I'd gone non-integrated, but wth. On my stock LS6 on the track I haven't seen over 220 water temps. Of course that was in the spring and/or fall.
Here in Phoenix with 115+ ambient temps in stop and go I don't go over 200. 230 was normal with the stock rad.

I have external oil cooler as well as tranny cooler in front of the Z06 (c5) radiator. Although it helps the oil temp, I still saw oil go to 292 last summer while ambient air temp was only 85 degrees while still running the OEM engine coolant radiator. I now have a REAL honest to goodness coolant radiator (Ron Davis) installed. From what I hear, I should now get all the temps down nicely. Although it has the combined oil cooler in it, I think I'll continue to keep things separate for now and see if using just the engine coolant part will help.

We also have a Radiator with built in oil cooler. It works very well and many here on the forum have had great luck with it. We like to use-sell them because it fits very nicely into the small package that we all have to work with. The picture below is a little off, I build all the lines for you. We sell the kit for 1195 shipped to your door (48 states).
