Default C4 headlight removal

Anyone ever pull the headlights off a late C4 and replace them with blank plates of some type? I'm gutting my 94 to finish converting it to a race car and want to pull the headlights out.

Yes we took out the headlights, turn signals, etc. Take off the cover on the headlight and use two strips of aluminum attached to the stock mounting points and JB weld the cover to these. The turn signals can be blocked off with plexi glass and we used colored plexi so it still looks like the signals

Yes, and converted the location to brake cooling air duct intake. See attached pictures. The adjustable lip at top has been removed and it still cools brakes very well.

This is what it looks like when hood is removed. It is a Plexiglas mounting for duct intakes on aluminum supports, and fastened to stock fasteners locations under the hood. Two hoses feed air to brakes on each side.

Mat is correct, easy to do what you want whether stock or lpinned ight weight hood.

I am stripping my 85.

I wonder how much weight it will save.
