How noisy are the XP8 brake pads if I want to use them for occasiional HPDEs and daily driver? I can live with brake dust. Thanks.

They will make noise everytime you hit the brakes.... but you can use them for street and HPDE. Ive had many customers do this...

I have used XP8's in the rear and race pads in the front. I would just switch out the fronts pads and leave the XP8's in on the street in the rear. When they are in the rear, they make little to no noise, but they will make noise in the front.

They squeal badly . I like them just fine for street use otherwise.

I just pulled mine off this weekend, cleaned the backing plates and spread some 'Squeal Silencer' goo on them. We'll see if that helps at all...

They will make noise, just a matter of time.

I guess I'm lucky - my Carbotechs are very quiet.

Does anyone think the XP8 stops better than a Hawk HP+ ?
Thinking of trying XP8 front & stock C5Z rear. Would that mess up the braking bias too badly??

They will handle heat better. I put some XP8's through hell at Road America and they never faded. I was very pleased!

A whole lot better. The HP+ are somewhere inbetween the Bobcats and AX6.

Id say a HT10 is close to XP8.

I've been running the XP8's on my C6Z06 front and rear. I put them on for a HPDE at VIR last November and left them on since. They are fairly noisey on the street but the dust is close to the same as OEM. I've got some Carbotech Bobcat's to put on for the street but just havn't got around to swaping them out yet. When the noise gets to be too much to put up with anymore I guess I'll put the Bobcat's in. The noise so far is tolerable.

Do you put any anti-squeal compound on the back of the pads?

No I havn't tried that. They are fairly noisey though. I'm thinking about putting the Bobcats on. I already have them just havn't got around to putting them on yet. The noise is tolerable so far but I am starting to get tired of it.

Squeal and squeek like a stuck pig on the street....
Specially my rears. Dust more than the stock Z pads - but stock dust a lot also- Carbotech dust seems to wash off easier though...
On the track they are better than the stock GM Z06 pads-
but for me not that much better ......and my front XP10's are almost gone after 6 track days-- rotors still good though and they were new with the Carbo pads. Frankly for almost twice the cost- I am sticking with the stock Z pads...

I ran XP10's front / XP8's rear- on a 2004 Z-
