Default Finally back on the autox lot again!

Had a great time at last Saturday's BMW autocross out at Mineral Wells. This was the slowest course I've run with the BMW group out at MW, but it was still a fun course.

I ended up 3rd in class behind a 2-driver '02 Z06 on V710s that was pretty well driven. I'm still running on the Toyo RA-1s that are about 1.5 seasons old (those suckers may not have as much grip as the V710s, but they wear like iron!).

Enjoy the video!
Mike

Doesn't look very slow to me. That is a huge lot.

Hey it was nice meeting you! This was the first event I've run with the BMW club and I wish I had brought the miata instead of the Z06! Those gates were tight! Are the gates always that narrow with that club? Maybe someone at the BMW club got tired of vettes always taking FTD?

Hey if you are interested I'm putting on a time trial at mineral wells April 25th:

Actually, the gate width was a little narrower than normal, but not too bad.

I'm going to be running the sound board for Granbury's high school musical the weekend of the 25th, drat! I'm hoping/planning on getting out to the PCA's TT at MW on March 28th; those are fun as well.

Here's a video from one of our autocrosses out at MW last year, to show how quick we usually go:

Cool video, mike. Too bad these events are on Saturday. I just can't run them.

I almost made the BCCC meeting last week but couldn't get the Corvette back together in time (and still don't have it together). Hopefully next month.

Here is a link to the Google maps image of the Mineral Wells airport where they run autocrosses. It's a Vietnam era helicopter base and this was a parking area for some of the helicopters. There are huge concrete patches like this all over the area. They trained thousands of pilots here.

Gawd I love Mineral Wells! I've run autoxes with most of the clubs there, built many courses for TX Region SCCA, and spent many nights in my RV out there...Fun place to play, and two minute, fast courses are the norm for some clubs...
