Default Mid ohio

I am looking for some feedback regarding mid-ohio. I am thinking of going there in May but want to make sure before taking the long haul.

Thanks.

definitely worth the trip. the track is a HOOT. elevation changes, weird camber turns, high speed sections, its got everything.

It's a fun track, with a lot of history. You'll enjoy it.

Thanks it is either mid Ohio or summit point shenandoah course and I heard summit is not good for vettes.

Probably just commit to mid-ohio so I can finish my track schedule.

no contest, you can't even compare those two tracks. shenandoah is fun, but NOWHERE near as fun as mid O.

I've only been there as a spectator, ALMS, Indycar, but that track is great.

You're going to be suprised as to how much elevation change there is.

I'm never been to mid-O but dont even bother taking a vette to Summit point Shen... really you will NOT have a fun time.

I have a LOT of track time at summit (all 3 tracks) and I could see maybe main, but not shen.

make the trekk to Mid-O

Only been once with the Vette, but it is a blast. A bit hairy in a few places (but nothing compared to WG - and you've run there if I remember right).

You looking at going with MVP in May?

Great facility, but it's out in the middle of nowhere (like a lot of 'em).

Yup looking at mvp in may and yes I run at wgi often. Funny most people say this turn is hairy and I think man if I had a fraction of that run off at wgi I would be in my glory.

No contest Shenandoah vs M-O, go to M-O. I like the Madness best but it's important to enter just right and then it's pure rythm. 3 good passing zones with the back straight the best. I never miss a chance to go there.

I won't dispute that Mid Ohio is the better opportunity, but I think SP Shenandoah is just fine for Vettes. It's actually my favorite of the three SP courses, no matter what car I'm in.

(I only post this for people who do searches of the Forum and might be lead to think they should avoid Shenandoah because something's wrong with it. Obviously, we each have our own opinions.)

My $.02. YMMV. Etc.

Mid Ohio is one of those tracks that you just don't hear bad things about, it's a roller coaster and you won't be sorry you rode it.
Actually you'll probably stand in line to ride it again.

Thanks this info basically seals it for me.

I am guessing 8 hour trip from NJ?

Oh and any suggestion on where to stay and eat would be appreciated.

Thanks again

I have been to Shennadoah and besides it being super tight with too many corners, guardrails are withing INCHES of the track's edge all throughout the course. That place has eaten many cars in the past few years. From a safety perspective, I wouldn't go there.

Hey, if you want to make a trip to Mid Ohio earlier, April 17, 18, 19, Ohio Valley Region PCA has an HPDE.

Contact me if you want more info...

ACtually I made a mistake saying we are going with MVP. We are going with Chin who took over trackquest northeast it looks like. It will be over memorial day weekend...

I loved Mid Ohio so much we've (www.MVPTrackTime.com) finally gotten a weekend there October 17-18. As for Summit Point, I prefer the main circuit over Shenandoah but feel Mid Ohio is a bit more fun.

Personally, I would choose the track the big boys choose to run...and that ain't Summit Point...

Why not come to one of the 3 NASA weekends at M-O? There are at least 10 of us here on the CF that run then.
