Default SCCA Dixie National Tour ( Autocross )

Just wanted to wish all those on the Forum that are making the trip to Southern Georgia Motorsports park for the 1st Eastern tour on the SCCA Schedule a big "GOOD LUCK!"

Hope you all avoid the dreaded cones and represent the CF well.

Craig, David, and Eric and anyone else I'm forgetting.

Wish it was closer, or I'd be there.

What does the SCCA run there? I've driven past there several dozen times, but all I could see was a circle track and a drag strip.

This is a national-level autocross event that is going on this weekend.

Since when can you have a 3 digit number that doesn't start with a 1?

My number at Dixie is 169. I will have a 16 x 20 piece placed over the 586.

586 is my primary number at most of the venues I run.

Gotcha. I figured you'd know but didn't want them to bust your stones at the big event. It doesn't exactly look like it would be easy to change that number.

Spending the day today: changing oil, bleeding brakes, and loading up the cars. It's going to be very early roll out in the morning

Damn I wish I had known about this sooner.

Anyone know what class I would be in with sway bars and sticky tires? I may try to register if it's not too late.

Okay, but what sort of sports car related track area do they have there?

South Georgia Motorsports Park.

Might be in the lot. I've never been there before. Looking forward to this weekend.

I'm sorry... I misread the question. I've not been there, so maybe one of the others can help you with that one.

They have a site... let me see if I can find it, and I'll post it up.
HERE IT IS! http://www.racesgmp.com/

sperkins, I believe they will take walk-ups, but I'm not 100% sure, but if you email Nancy Downing with the SCCA she can help.

Same here. Good luck to the Corvettes from the slowly thawing out New England area.

I was hoping that SCCA would start the live timing and scoring up for this year that they used during solo nats last year. That way we could keep up with the results.

The autocross events are held in the parking area that runs beside the drag strip.

I run with Dixie Region every month with my SM Mustang.

I might ride up this afternoon and take some pics again as I don't run the National events. Here are some I took last year. http://www.dixiescca.com/dixie-tour-08/

Anyone hearing from any of our CF members as to how they're doing?

Edit:

Checked SCCA's page... Craig is in 8th in SS and his co-driver is in 2nd.

Craig's car is in 1st place in SS Ladies.

In ASP, David is in 2nd, and Eric is in 3rd. His co-driver, Brittany is in 6th.

Way to go CF members and hope the day is great today.

Looks like the event went well.

Eric Took 3rd in ASP ( last trophy spot ) and his co-driver Brittany took 4th!
The great Mr. Lehman won ASP!

Criag's car did well, taking both 1st place is SSL and 2nd place in SS, and Craig made it @ 10th in SS.

Criag's Z06 showed that it can hang with the Elise for sure.
