Default NCM HPDE at NJMP July 20-21, 2009

Hot off the press folks. As previously hinted by AU N EGL and others, the National Corvette Museum will be running their first HPDE in the Northeast at New Jersey Motorsports Park's Lighning track on July 20-21. Track is located in Millville, NJ.

With its renown light-bulb corner and curves with elevation changes, NJMP Lightning offers a challenging circuit for beginners and experts alike, together with excellent facilities to expand the Museum’s highly-regarded High Performance Driving Event program. Track and facilities information is available at www.njmotorsportspark.com.

Event details will be posted shortly in the Museum's website www.corvettemuseum.com and registration (through the NCM website) will open later this month.

For those that missed the registration for VIR, or that need an event closer to home, NJMP is it. This is a typical NCM event, well organized in an excellent track with good facilities. Banquet Monday night is included in the two-day price of $475 for NCM members.

There are good hotels relatively close and things for the wife to do while you run.

Make sure you are signed up on the NCM eNews to receive the latest news on this and all NCM events.

Looking forward to seeing you track rats over there.

Hmmnnnn .... three weeks after VIR ... can I manage that?
Well, I guess if Roc can, I gotta suck it up somehow and make it!

This is seriously good news for the NE folks!
I gave our East Region clubs a heads-up saturday that NCM was coming to NJMP, but I didn't know when ... now we know

We are all excited about having this event close to home. Maybe the dates are not ideal, but we have to work with the dates the track has available. We will revisit the dates for 2010.

...and of course I will be on vacation that week.

Have fun, enjoy, bring lots of sun screen, and some kind of covering to stand under...it's going to be hot.

Denny,

Yeah, I'm thinking the same. No way thought that many NE folks will do VIR June30, then NVCC Summit July 11, then NCM NJMP July 20.

C'mon guys, if this old guy can do 2 days at VIR followed immediately by 3 at Mid Ohio before heading to NJMP then you can too. And the thought of hitting a Jersey diner is almost more that I can take.

Hmmmmm........

The plan was to drive up to VIR, then to visit my wife's sister in Cleveland, then over to Trenton, NJ to visit my sister and her husband who bought my '05 coupe, then back to Daytona about the middle of July.

This just might require me to extend the stay each place by several days.

Maybe I can talk my brother-in-law into running my old car.

Yeah......this just might work!!!!

Maybe I'll see everybody at VIR and NJMP!!

That sounds like some of my trips; I'm going to CT in April for my son's wedding (some of you know Jon or have seen him on TV) but via Bristol, Winchester VA, Arlington and Annapolis, Far Hills NJ and finally Hartford CT.

Well, Andy ... as I see it, it's us mid-atlantic folks that are most tempted to extend ourselves ...

Oh ... and just to be clear ... Roc's comment above about the "old guy" refers to HIMSELF, not to me ...

(MO is not (yet) on my list ... )

Right, that is a reference to me only, not calling anyone else old. Now I do the Paul Newman thing, my run number is my age...helps me to remember!

Mid Ohio is an awesome track and I never miss the ACNA event there, not since 2000. Last year in a stock factory Z06 was the best although I've enjoyed every car I ever drove there.

Yeah I thought those were fighting words when I read them!!

Sooooo tempting to do 2 NCM events in the same year, back to back no less. Has enrollment already started?

Do they allow camping up at NJMP like VIR does?

Yes, I believe they do, but I would call first to confirm.

Count me in Roc, after the 300 mile drive to VIR, 800 to Road America and 600 to Putnam Park, the short 95 miles to NJMP is a welcome change from supporting the oil companies. I suppose this will be another key board race to see who hits the NCM server first.
