Default Auto X class help - experts needed...

My local SCCA region is having an event this weekend and a buddy of mine and I are thinking about entering. I read the SCCA rules as much as possible, but there are literally 346 pages.

What class would we fall under?

CAR 1:
2003 C5 ZO6
Only modifications:
Front and rear sway bars
275front /305rear R compound tires
Removal of factory air box for K&N filter.

CAR 2:
2007 C6 Z51
Only modifications:
275front /305rear R compound tires
Vararam air filter
Headers / cat delete

Thanks in advance,
SP

Car #1 would be ASP for sure. as the rear sway bar throws it in there, as does the Airbox modification.

Car # 2 MIGHT be ASP since the headers are there, but I'm not sure since the cats are gone.. that might throw a kink in it. If not , it would be in SSM ( formerly SM2 ).

I THINK you still need to have some kind of Cat in SP trim, but I'm not 100% sure.

If I was home, I'd look in the rulebook, as it's easier than looking on the online PDF.

Both Cars are ASP. Street Prepared allows removal of Catcons...

yep...smells like ASP for both to me

but you'd be eligible for other classes like SSM (and maybe XP?) if there were folks in those classes you wanted to compete directly with

These other guys are right, likely asp. Don't obsess about the class you end up in. Go out and have a good time.

Thanks guys. Please excuse my ignorance, but I know nothing about the auto X thing. Is ASP some form of the "Street Prepared" class?

ASP

CSP
DSP
ESP
FSP

All "SP" configued C5 & C6 vettes fall under "ASP" and C4's fall under "BSP"

If you are going to run with your buddy be sure to register in the same class so you can have some fun with each other. Loser buys dinner or something like that. That way you won't be worried about how others are doing, only how you are doing vs. your buddy.

Just have fun.
